In this commercial we can see three people in an hospital room; a nurse, a woman who’s about to deliver her child and her husband who is eating doritos. The nurse is quite happy for the woman and informs her that her baby will be delivered. The woman is happy after looking at her baby via ultrasound. Then she looks at her husband expecting the same reaction from him. I hope you liked this doritos ultrasound superbowl commercial.
But, what we see is that he’s eating doritos at such an important time. The woman asks him angrily that are you really eating doritos at this time? ReallY? She says the same to the nurse showing how weird is the reaction of her husband. While the husband is eating doritos, we see a similar pattern between the child and the doritos. As the doritos moves, the same is the movement of the child in the womb. The woman then throws away the doritos from her husband’s hands.
When she threw away the doritos, at the exact same time the child comes out of the womb and the delivery is over. The thrown doritos and the child’s movements reflect each other which is amusing to watch.

This ultrasound commercial by doritos is no doubt one of the funniest and most creative advertisements ever. It is funny how the doritos and the child share the same movement at the same time. It is even funnier to see a man eating doritos while her wife is having her ultrasound in the same room.
Through this ad, doritos has not only succeeded in doing proper ad placement but has succeeded in entertaining the fans as well. This commercial is a a lot different from the regular cliched commercials that only focus on brand placement and does not tend to entertain or amuse the fans.
Reason why this commercial has become so popular is the creative turn that the commercial takes while the man is eating doritos. Everybody expected the man to be happy or focused on what’s going in the ultrasound, but instead, he focused on the packet of doritos that were in his hands.
Even after her wife sarcastically commented on him eating the doritos during the ultrasound, the man didn’t understand (or maybe didn’t wanted to understand) and kept on eating doritos until his wife threw it away.
Not only the man, even the nurse was surprised with the man’s reaction but couldn’t do anything. The commercial took a creative turn when the child was behaviour similar to the doritos i.e. the child in the womb was moving in the same direction as the doritos were moved. At last, the child finally got delivered, but the delivery wasn’t an ordinary one. As the woman snapped the doritos from her husband and threw it away, the child got delivered.
